The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has announced its readiness to conduct a by-election to fill two vacant Councillorship positions on December 13 in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of the commission, Prof. Dani Lawal-Malumfashi in Kano on Monday.
He said that the by-election became necessary following the death of two serving councillors, one representing Kofar Mazugal Ward in Dala Local Government Area, and the other representing Matan Fada Ward in Ghari Local Government Area.
According to the commission, the by-election has been tentatively scheduled for December 13, 2025.
Lawal-Malumfashi said that adequate preparations were underway to ensure a smooth, transparent, and credible electoral process.
He called on the political parties, candidates, and community leaders to cooperate with KANSIEC in upholding peace and fairness throughout the exercise.( NAN) ( www.nannews.ng)
