Kano Governor Pledges Support After Singer Market Fire

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has expressed sympathy for traders affected by a fire outbreak at Singer Market on Monday.

The Governor, who was out of town during the incident, sent his representative, Commissioner for Investment, Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative, Gwani Shehu Wada Sagagi, to visit the victims and convey his condolences.

“The Governor personally called me to express his sympathy and directed me to visit the traders on his behalf,” Commissioner Sagagi said, according to a press statement by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammad Nura Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf assured that the government would provide support to help affected traders recover from their losses.

In response to the rising number of fire incidents in markets across Kano, he directed the Ministry to launch a sensitization programme to educate traders and business owners on the benefits of Islamic insurance.

The initiative aims to help businesses mitigate losses from fire and other unforeseen events.
