Kaduna Civil Servants Begin Three-Day CBT Exams

Over 5,000 Kaduna State civil servants have commenced their Computer-Based Test (CBT) confirmation examinations following a mandatory two-year probation period. The three-day exercise covers all cadres of the civil service, with Zone 2 recording the highest participation of 3,000 candidates, while Zones 1 and 3 accommodate 1,000 candidates each.

Kaduna State Head of Service, Jummai Bako, expressed satisfaction with the organisation and smooth conduct of the exams. Speaking after inspecting the CBT centres, she emphasised the significance of the exercise in confirming the appointments of civil servants across the state.

Examinations are being conducted at three designated centres: Kaduna State University main campus for Zone 2, the Federal College of Education in Zaria for Zone 1, and Kaduna State University’s Kafanchan campus for Zone 3. Bako praised the logistical arrangements, noting that invigilators were on hand to promptly address any challenges candidates encountered during the exams.

Highlighting the importance of professionalism, Bako encouraged civil servants to maintain high standards of work ethics and dedication, citing the training and capacity-building initiatives introduced since Governor Uba Sani assumed office. She credited the state government for continuously strengthening the civil service and providing opportunities for skill development.

“The purpose of our visit is to ensure that the civil service examination is conducted properly and that civil servants who have completed their two-year probation are confirmed appropriately. I am impressed with the turnout and how well the exams are being managed,” Bako said.

The three-day CBT exercise marks a key milestone in Kaduna State’s efforts to enhance accountability, efficiency, and professionalism within its civil service workforce. By integrating technology into the confirmation process, the state aims to streamline operations, reduce manual errors, and ensure a fair and transparent evaluation for all candidates.

This initiative aligns with broader goals of strengthening public service delivery and encouraging civil servants to uphold integrity and diligence in their duties, ultimately benefiting governance and service provision to the people of Kaduna State.
