The Oshimili North Coordinator of the Buhari Support Organisations (BSO) in Delta State, Comrade Okwusi J.P. Okpara, has announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okpara’s resignation was made public by Lauretta Onochie, a staunch supporter of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who shared a copy of his letter on social media.
Letter of Resignation
In the letter titled “Resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC)” and addressed to Mrs Chiedu Okafor, Okpara stated that his decision to quit the party was reached after extensive consultations with his family and political associates.
He wrote, “I’m writing to formally resign from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective immediately.
“As a progressive democrat and law-abiding citizen of this great nation, it has been my desire to see this great nation progress economically and politically. This decision was taken after consulting widely with my family and political associates.”
Okpara added that despite leaving the APC, his commitment to democratic ideals remains unwavering.
“I remain committed to the ideals of democracy and constitutional governance, and I will continue to encourage and support the political and economic growth of this nation outside the current structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” he stated.
The development has sparked discussions within Delta State’s political circles, as Okpara was regarded as a dedicated grassroots mobiliser within the APC and a key supporter of the Buhari administration.
