Residents of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State have continued to recount the events surrounding a deadly attack that occurred on Sunday evening, leaving multiple casualties and several others injured.
In a report aired by Channels Television on Monday, March 30, 2026, a resident identified as Sunday Akintola detailed the sequence of events, describing the situation as sudden and overwhelming for members of the community. “It was a disaster, which everybody knew, because they took us unaware,” he said.
Providing further details, the resident explained how the attackers operated upon entering the area, stating: “So before they knew, once they step in, they shoot them. Direct shooting. And before we know it, it was terrorists. And nobody can be able to recall who is that person. We don’t even know who.”
He added that attempts by residents to assist victims were disrupted as the assailants continued moving through the community. “So, before people would come to like, for the other ones’ rescues, before we knew it, they followed through this way, trying to escape. And what they did there was, as they were moving, slowly, not even running, anyone they saw coming, they shoot and machete you down. That’s what they did yesterday,” he said.
Akintola further described the method of operation allegedly used by the attackers, noting the role of motorcycles in the incident. “These terrorists, they are using, their model of brandy is using of motorcycle. This motorcycle should be banned completely,” he added.
