Jigawa Reduces 2026 Hajj Fare By ₦787,916

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fare, lowering the cost from ₦8,457,685 to ₦7,669,769.

The development was disclosed in a statement signed by the board’s spokesperson, Habibu Yarima. According to the Director-General, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, the reduction of ₦787,916 followed the intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Labbo, who is currently in Saudi Arabia to secure accommodation for the state’s pilgrims, said preparations for the 2026 exercise have been completed. He noted that the agreement for next year’s Hajj was signed between the Federal Government and authorities in the Holy Land.

He also announced that the collection of 2026 Hajj fares will close next month and urged intending pilgrims who have yet to pay to do so promptly to avoid delays in visa processing.

The Director-General commended Governor Umar Namadi for his continued support to the board.
