JAMB star girl, 16-year-old Daniella narrates how she scored 372

Nigeria has a fresh academic sensation as Owoeye Daniella Jesudunsin emerges as the highest scorer in the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination with an outstanding aggregate score of 372 out of 400.

The result breakdown shows exceptional performance across core science subjects—English Language (98), Chemistry (98), Physics (94), and Biology (82)—positioning her as one of the most remarkable UTME candidates in recent years with aspirations to study Medicine and Surgery.

Daniella, a disciplined and purpose-driven student, described her success as the outcome of consistency, strategic preparation, and strong personal conviction. She emphasized that her academic journey was anchored on structured learning methods, resilience, and a commitment to excellence.

Her performance has since sparked widespread admiration across educational circles and social media platforms, where many are hailing her as a symbol of academic excellence.

Her background reflects strong family and academic support. She is the daughter of Mr. Owoeye Taiwo Joseph, an administrator, and Dr. Owoeye Taiwo Felicia, an academic researcher, with roots in Ekiti State and Kwara State respectively.

According to her account, her parents played a central role in her success by providing moral support, encouragement, prayers, and learning resources throughout her preparation journey.

Daniella is an alumna of EFVP Wisdom Spring Model School, where she built a strong academic foundation. During her UTME preparation, she adopted a topic-by-topic study approach combined with intensive past question practice.

She also leveraged multiple learning platforms including JAMB Series Remix, Prep50, CBT practice tools, online materials, and DailyEd Online Tutorials, which she credited for strengthening her CBT readiness through structured lessons, quizzes, and consistent assessments.

Describing her preparation routine, she revealed long hours of daily study combined with late-night tutorial sessions running from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Despite the intensity, she maintained balance through breaks, prayer, rest, and personal motivation.

She also noted that discipline required sacrifices, including reduced social media use, entertainment, and leisure activities, in order to maintain focus on her academic goals.

When addressing academic challenges, she explained that while no subject was entirely beyond her capability, certain topics required deeper effort and repeated practice.

She overcame these through consistent revision, mentorship, online resources, and past question drills. Her approach, she said, was anchored on understanding concepts rather than rote memorization, which helped her achieve mastery across subjects.

Beyond academics, Daniella expressed a strong passion for Medicine and Surgery, which she identified as her long-standing motivation.

She also highlighted her interest in singing, reading novels, watching movies, playing educational games, and engaging in personal development activities. According to her, these interests helped maintain balance and mental wellness during her intense preparation period.
