JAMB extends admission deadline for public universities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for admission into public universities.

JAMB announced the extension in a recent statement on X, (formerly Twitter).

Details Of The Extension

According to the statement dated November 2, 2025, the initial deadline for public university admissions was October 31, 2025.

In light of emergent and compelling circumstances, the deadline has been extended to November 17, 2025.

Reasons For The Extension

According to the statement, the extension stems from an appeal from to extend the deadline and a court order directing that the status quo be maintained on the 2025/2026 admission list.

Additionally, the extension aims to expand access in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

JAMB emphasized its commitment to ensuring a seamless and transparent admission process that aligns with national institutional goals and promotes institutional autonomy.
