‎By Muhyideen Jimoh

President Bola Tinubu has postponed his scheduled trip to South Africa and Angola,  as he awaits further security briefings on the kidnapped Kebbi schoolgirls and the attack on worshippers in Eruku, Kwara.

‎In a statement  by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga on Wednesday, Tinubu also ordered additional security deployment to Eruku and Ekiti local government areas of Kwara.

‎He directed the police to pursue the bandits who attacked worshippers at the  Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku.

‎The Need Agency  of Nigeria (NAN) recalls  that the President was scheduled to depart Abuja on Wednesday for the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg,  and later the AU-EU Summit in Luanda.

‎However, Onanuga said that Tinubu suspended his departure due to the security breaches in Kebbi and the fatal attack in Kwara.

‎The President also awaits reports from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who visited Kebbi on his behalf, and from security agencies investigating the attack in Kwara.

‎Tinubu reiterated his directive to security agencies to secure the release of the 24 abducted schoolgirls and ensure their safe return home. (NAN)
