Founder of Evangelical Biblical Outreach Ministries International (EBOMI), Prophet Isa El-Buba, has called on President Bola Tinubu to either address Nigeria’s worsening insecurity or resign from office. Speaking in Jos during a three-day national mourning and prayer programme organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), El-Buba said the president bears ultimate responsibility for protecting lives and property across the country.
The cleric warned that Nigeria could face a crisis in 2027 if security challenges remain unresolved, insisting that government must place the safety of citizens above politics and elections. He declared that “no security, no election,” stressing that Nigerians deserve peace before any political activities take place.
Addressing worshippers dressed in black during the event tagged “Black Sunday,” El-Buba expressed concern over the continued killings, kidnappings and displacement of communities across the country. He urged the federal government to secure the release of citizens still being held captive by criminal groups.
He noted that democracy should go beyond the right to vote and must guarantee security, justice and equal opportunities for all citizens. According to him, the growing insecurity has left many families living in fear, while countless innocent lives have been lost to violence.
El-Buba also called on security agencies to intensify efforts against criminal networks and urged Nigerians to embrace moral values, justice and accountability. He appealed to religious leaders, citizens and the Muslim community to work together to prevent religion from being exploited for violence and criminal activities.
