Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, has made headlines over his comment about US President, Donald Trump.
This comes after Trump threatened to invade Nigeria over the killings of Christians.
Additionally, Trump directed the US Department of War to prepare for potential military action against Nigeria.
Barau Jibrin’s Comment About Trump
During a Senate session, Barau Jibrin declared that he’s not scared of Donald Trump, emphasizing Nigeria’s sovereignty.
”We’re a sovereign nation. I can speak, I’m not scared of Trump.I can say my mind. I’m Nigerian, Nigeria is a sovereign nation. I am a parliamentarian“, He firmly stated.
However, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio interrupted him, stating that he should not permit his words to be misattributed.
Meanwhile, amid Donald Trump’s threat, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has declared a state of emergency over the nation’s security training facilities.
As reported by the Daily Post on November 4, 2025, the announcement specifically addresses the training institutions of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other security agencies.
The development was confirmed by Enugu state Governor Peter Mbah, who heads the National Economic Council (NEC) ad-hoc committee tasked with revamping security training institutions.
