The Nigeria Police Force has removed its Public Relations Officer, ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, six months after he assumed office, amid ongoing restructuring within the force.
Approval for his removal was reportedly granted on Thursday, March 5, 2026, though officials have not disclosed detailed reasons behind the decision.
The development comes less than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu inaugurated Tunji Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police, following the removal of former IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
Hundeyin was appointed Force Public Relations Officer under Egbetokun, and it remains unclear who will succeed him in the role.
A source within the force indicated that changes in key positions often follow the appointment of a new IGP, describing the development as part of routine restructuring. Efforts to reach Hundeyin for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
