His Royal Highness, Mujahid Asari Dokubo, the Amayanabo of Torusarama Piri (Elem Kalabari) in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State, has dismissed reports circulating online about his alleged arrest while also addressing claims linking him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Dokubo, who is also the President-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (Ameer Muminin) for the South-East and South-South regions and a former militant leader who founded the Niger Delta People’s Volunteer Force, spoke during a live video broadcast on his official Facebook page on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
During the broadcast, he addressed allegations that he had been invited or detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, stating, “I was connected with Malami. I took money, so EFCC. EFCC has never invited me. That’s what you have been paying for. The latest one is that I have been arrested.”
He continued by describing remarks he made earlier while breaking his fast, saying, “So yesterday, I was being very sarcastic during the break of my fast. I said I have been transported to America. People were laughing.”
Dokubo also commented on issues relating to the Niger Delta and discussions about the creation of Biafra. He said, “I will continue to mention my position, but if America comes in here, listen to me very well, so that you can report me back to America. If America comes in here to take our oil, to give and create Biafra, Ijaw oil to create Biafra for Igbo people, they will not leave this place.”
He added, “Whoever supported them, this is Ijaw land, and it is known as a white man’s graveyard.”
The former militant leader further alleged the circulation of manipulated media content online, stating, “Igbo are suffering collective amnesia. They don’t remember anything that happened yesterday. They create their world. They have created AI videos and so on that have been carried around.”See_More…
