The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed receipt of a formal petition from Africa’s richest businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, against the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Alhaji Farouk Ahmed.
The anti-graft agency disclosed that the petition was received on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, through Dangote’s legal representatives.
Confirming the development in a media release, ICPC spokesperson, Mr. John Okor Odey, said the Commission has commenced preliminary steps in line with its statutory mandate.
“The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission writes to confirm that it received a formal petition today, Tuesday 16th December, 2025, from Alhaji Aliko Dangote through his lawyer against the CEO of the NMDPRA, Alhaji Farouk Ahmed,” Odey stated.
He assured that the matter would be treated with the seriousness it deserves.
“The ICPC wishes to state that the petition will be duly investigated,” he added.
