Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has shared an update about the detention of the viral Ibom Air Flight female passenger, Comfort Emmanson.
Notably, Comfort Emmanson has been in the headlines following a viral video showing her assaulting crew members and security personnel.
According to a statement released by the minister on August 13, 2025, on X (formely Twitter), he has consulted with Ibom Airline to withdraw the complaint against Comfort Emmanson
Keyamo attributed his decision to withdraw the complaint to Emmanson’s display of remorse and appeals from concerned individuals.
Furthermore, Keyamo has conferred with the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) leadership, appealing for the lifting of the lifetime flying ban imposed on Emmanson.
Regarding K1 De Ultimate (KWAM), Keyamo revealed that he has instructed the NCAA to reduce the flight ban to one month.
Additionally, FAAN will collaborate with the Fuji star as an ambassador to promote proper airport security protocols.
Meanwhile NCAA will withdraw its criminal complaints against KWAM.
Furthermore, the licenses of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba, suspended due to the incident, will be restored after a one-month ban, subject to a mandatory professional re-appraisal, with details to be announced by the NCAA.
