South African TV host Nadia Nakai, who was previously in a relationship with the late rapper AKA, has disclosed that she has no plans to date another rapper.
The media star explained that she hopes to keep her next relationship private, as she would not want to endure the scrutiny of sharing her grief with the public if a famous partner were to pass away.
Nadia recalls AKA
Speaking in a recent interview with Fresh Men Magazine, Nakai described losing AKA as a deeply painful experience, and noting that the grief wasn’t what she wanted to share with the public.
She said …
“I will not date another rapper or anybody in the [entertainment] industry ever again. I never want to do that again. I want to have a very private relationship. I don’t want it to be public because if he had to die, that experience was terrible for me.
“I didn’t like having to explain my pain to strangers at the airport. I don’t want to explain nonsense to people on social media. So, I will never date a rapper or anybody in the public eye.”
AKA’s tragic demise
Recall that Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, was shot and kil.led on February 10, 2023, outside a restaurant in Durban, South Africa. The award-winning rapper had been in the city to perform at a nightclub later that evening. Surveillance footage showed two gunmen approaching and opening fire at close range as he stepped out of the restaurant with friends.
