The founder and senior pastor of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has recounted a dramatic early ministry experience in which a child died after he prayed — before, he said, the child was miraculously restored to life.
Speaking during a recent sermon shared on YouTube, Suleman narrated how he was inspired by a testimony from his pastor more than 30 years ago about raising the dead. Determined to test the possibility himself, he began visiting hospitals in search of a deceased patient to pray for.
“I said, is there anybody dead? They said no, they are sick. I said no, I don’t want sick, I want dead,” he recalled.
Eventually, he met a woman whose six-year-old child was described as “almost dead,” after nurses reportedly told her to take the child home because there was no hope. Suleman insisted on praying.
“I carried the baby and said, ‘Lord, my pastor said I can raise this baby. Baby, I speak life to you,’” he recounted. “When I finished praying, the baby died. I wanted to run away.”
The shocking turn of events left him momentarily shaken. The grieving mother reportedly grabbed him in anger, while medical staff gathered and rebuked him.
“I was looking for a window to jump out,” he admitted.
However, Suleman said he felt prompted by the Holy Spirit to continue praying. “You wanted to raise the dead, not the half-dead,” he said he heard inwardly.
Regaining courage, he asked for the child’s name and called it repeatedly in prayer. “The third time I called the name, the baby sneezed, turned, struggled out of my hand and ran to the mother,” he declared.
The preacher said the experience transformed his faith and boldness. “Me that wanted to run, I refused to run again. I said, is there anybody dead again?” he added.
Suleman concluded by affirming his belief that “Jesus is the same yesterday,” urging believers to trust in God’s unchanging power.See_More…
