Mrs Osawaru, mother-in-law of 2Baba, has given the legendary singer an ultimatum, urging him and his new wife, Natasha, to make plans for a baby as soon as possible.
The Idibia household was filled with joy on Friday as legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, marked his 50th birthday in Lagos.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate the milestone, but the moment that stole the spotlight came from his mother-in-law, Philomena Osawaru.
Mother-in-law’s special charge
Mrs. Osawaru, who joined in the celebration, showered the music icon with prayers and compliments, expressing her delight at having him as a son-in-law. But she also made her expectations clear, playfully charging the couple to expand their family soon.
“It’s a joy and delight to have you as my son-in-law… Innocent Idibia, at 50, you’re looking 25. When some of us are praying to age gracefully, God has done it for you already. You will continue to age gracefully, In Jesus’ name. Amen. By the time we come next, we will see the baby crawling around,” she said.
Warm words for the celebrant
Her words drew laughter and applause from those present, adding to the celebratory atmosphere of the evening. 2Baba, who is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated music icons, was visibly touched by the goodwill messages as he marked his golden jubilee.
