A fresh wave of reactions has trailed a viral video featuring popular cleric, Primate Elijah Ayodele, after he made a bold prediction about the future of American politics.
In the video circulating widely on social media, the spiritual leader claimed that a Nigerian could one day emerge as President of the United States within a few election cycles, a statement that has sparked both curiosity and criticism online.
Ayodele’s Prediction Sparks Debate
Speaking in the viral clip, Ayodele said, “In some years to come, maybe in the next two, three elections of America, I see a black Nigeria becoming American president.”
The statement quickly gained traction, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians who questioned both the possibility and relevance of such a prophecy.
While some viewers found the prediction intriguing, others dismissed it as unrealistic, pointing to the constitutional requirements for anyone seeking to become President of the United States, including citizenship by birth.
Social Media Users React Strongly
Several social media users did not hold back in expressing their views, with many criticising the cleric’s focus on international politics rather than domestic issues.
A user identified as NaijaNarrate wrote, “Who asked this man to predict American politics? If he’s truly powerful, let him help our security agencies—give hints on where bandits might strike next. Not predictions about what doesn’t concern us.”
Another user, Val Onyi, reacted in disbelief, writing, “Examples of god of men pastors causing commotions today….like whc kind thing he dey yarn so.”
David also shared his thoughts, saying, “This is probably the work of a root in kaikai. You have no mouth to talk after singing oyomadate.”
Frank criticised those paying attention to the prophecy, stating, “My biggest concern here are the people standing and foolishly listening to his gibberish, without giving him a deafening slap.”
Similarly, Spoonzz12 questioned the pattern of such predictions, writing, “The funniest thing about this mumu man be say na always international vision e dey always see not Nigeria vision.”
