During an interview on Mic on Podcast, former SDP presidential candidate Adewole Adebayo shared his candid views on past Nigerian leadership and the qualifications needed for the presidency.
Adebayo stressed that effective governance requires not only goodwill but also competence and preparedness. He highlighted the importance of learning from past administrations to ensure that future leaders are capable of meeting the nation’s challenges.
“There are many people who were fumbling and bumbling in government in the past. I was very critical of President Goodluck Jonathan. I respect him; he’s been very kind to me, but someone like Jonathan should not have been president. He wasn’t qualified, and he wasn’t ready to do the work, so it’s not Tinubu that is the only one.”
He further argued that holding leaders accountable for their readiness and capabilities is essential to Nigeria’s political development, emphasizing that respect for former leaders does not negate the need for scrutiny regarding their ability to serve effectively.See_More…
