“I Dressed In White On ‘Wake Up Nigeria’, Shared My Story, And Weeks Later TVC Called Me In” – Abdul

Ria Abdul told Chude that her current job on TVC’s morning show came unexpectedly after she appeared as a guest on the channel’s lifestyle programme “Wake Up Nigeria”. She said she went on the show dressed in white, shared her journey, and spoke directly to young girls about chasing their dreams.

She explained that about two weeks later, she received a call that a senior person at TVC had watched her performance and wanted to speak with her, leading to meetings about a more serious, politics‑focused role.

Ria said she never submitted a CV to TVC and had actually been thinking more about Channels TV and shows like “Rubbin’ Minds”, but believes God directed her to TVC instead, where she now hosts a weekday politics show.

Ria Abdul said: “They called me one day to come on ‘Wake Up Nigeria’. I dressed well in my white and shared my story, telling young girls that once you have the mind for something you can do it. About two weeks later I got a call that somebody at the top was watching me and they wanted a conversation. I never went to TVC to give them my CV. I always thought of Channels and ‘Rubbin’ Minds’, but God said, ‘No, this is where I want to put you.’”See_More…
