According to a recent video by Church Gist on Wednesday, March 24, 2026, Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has emphasized meekness as a vital virtue for fulfilling divine destiny, recounting a personal encounter he described as revelatory.
Speaking during a sermon, Oyedepo referenced the example of Jesus Christ, who described Himself as “meek and lowly in heart,” stressing that such a nature is essential for believers seeking to walk in God’s plan.
He narrated how God once showed him a prophet sent to him, appearing on a screen in his study despite the absence of a television. According to him, God revealed that the prophet’s impact was not a product of prayer or fasting, but of meekness.
“I picked up my phone and called him. I said, ‘God just showed me your secret this morning,’” he recounted. Oyedepo further warned against arrogance and self-centeredness, 2Timothy, and urged humility as the pathway to divine lifting.
His Words: “ One day, the Lord showed me one of the prophets He sent to me. He said, “Look at him.” It appeared on a screen, even though there was no TV in my study. He said it is not his prayer or fasting that has made him, but his meekness. I heard from God that meekness makes great destinies.
As usual, I picked up my phone and called him. I said, “God just showed me your secret this morning.”
