I Asked Tinubu, ‘I Suspect the Americans Are Playing a Geopolitical Game; Are We Ready?’—Sowunmi

During an interview on Channels Television, Nigerian politician Segun Sowunmi shared insights from a private conversation he had with President Bola Tinubu, highlighting concerns about external influence and internal party dynamics.

Sowunmi explained that his discussion with Tinubu covered several issues he considered critical for Nigeria’s political and strategic positioning. He stated that he raised concerns about potential geopolitical maneuvers by the United States and questioned whether the country was prepared to navigate such challenges.

According to him, “You want me to tell you one of the things I told him? I told him five things. Listen to the five things; he’s alive, and you can go and ask him. One of the things I told him, I said, “Listen, I suspect that the Americans are going to be having a deep state geopolitical game. Are we ready?” He had his answer; I won’t tell you what the answer is. The second thing I told him, I said, “This your man, my man that we borrowed you, Wike? I’m a little bit concerned that you want to have him in your party.”

Sowunmi emphasized that these discussions were part of a broader conversation about political strategy, alliances, and the need for careful consideration of both domestic and international factors affecting governance.See_More…
