Hon. Sapele pledges youth, women empowerment in sagbama constituency 1

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Sagbama Constituency 1, Hon. Lawrence Ewhus Sapele, has pledged to prioritise youth empowerment, women’s economic advancement and grassroots development if elected.

Sapele made the commitment while receiving youths from the constituency who paid him a courtesy visit to exchange ideas and discuss strategies for accelerating development across the constituency.

The former Councillor representing Sagbama Ward 3 and former Organising Secretary of Sagbama Local Government Youths Worldwide said his grassroots experience and understanding of the challenges confronting young people have prepared him for effective representation.

He assured the youths that his legislative mandate would be centred on service to the constituents rather than personal enrichment.

According to him, representation should provide practical opportunities for the people through initiatives, policies and projects capable of improving their livelihoods.

Sapele particularly identified youth development and empowerment as key areas of focus, while also promising to support initiatives aimed at strengthening women’s economic participation and independence.

He said he would use the opportunities available through the legislature to attract meaningful development projects and advocate policies that would directly benefit the people of Sagbama Constituency 1.

The NDC candidate emphasised that public office should be regarded as a responsibility to serve, represent and deliver results to the people.

He urged constituents to support leadership anchored on competence, accessibility, accountability and tangible results.

Sapele is seeking election to represent Sagbama Constituency 1 in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
