Hilda Baci Celebrates New Jollof Rice GWR Feat

Chef Hilda Baci has celebrated her new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing 8,780 kilogrammes (19,356 lb 9 oz).

Announcing the achievement on Monday on X (formerly Twitter), Baci wrote, “We have done it again #nigeria #hildabaci.”

The record, which was achieved in partnership with Gino on Friday in Victoria Island, Lagos, has been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records.

Baci’s achievement has once again placed Nigerian cuisine in the global spotlight.

The event on Friday drew a large crowd of supporters, celebrities, and food enthusiasts. Nollywood actress Funke Akindele joined Baci on stage to stir the tomato base for the rice, while the First Lady of Ogun State, Bamidele Abiodun, was also present.

Other notable attendees included dancer Kaffy, Tomike Adeoye, Enioluwa, Peller, Veekee James, Femi Atere, Tacha, Papaya, Samuel Banks, Alex Unusual, Folagbade Banks, and Spyro.
