A Nigerian lady has shared a hilarious encounter with a man who allegedly sent her ₦20,000 after trying to get her contact details on a public bus.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that the man initially asked for her Snapchat username, but she told him she did not have one. He then requested her phone number, which she also refused to give him.
According to her, the man later offered to pay her transport fare after the conductor asked passengers to pay. However, she claimed she suspected that his offer was an attempt to get her phone number.
Recounting the encounter, she said:
“I was in a bus and this guy asked for my Snap. I told him I don’t have one, and then he asked for my number. I refused to give him.
Then the conductor was asking us to pay our transport. He said I should give him my Opay so he would pay for me. I knew he wanted to get my number, so I told him I’m using Moniepoint, and this guy sent me ₦20K.
I know if it was his guy that asked him for that money, he would give an excuse, but he gave me ₦20K for nothing. He is an Oloriburuku (useless man).”
The lady appeared amused by the unexpected outcome, suggesting that the man’s willingness to part with ₦20,000 left her surprised.
Her account has since attracted attention, with the encounter highlighting the different approaches people sometimes take when trying to get the attention of someone they are interested in.\
