Kingsley told Brekete Family that the advertised 20 million naira prize for the winner of Movie Chiefs Reality TV Show was broken down into a one-year movie contract, a car, and a cash prize, but that after he was announced winner, the producer changed the narrative.
He said the producer told him on the day of prize presentation that he should not expect to receive up to 2 million naira in cash and that at best he might get between 1 million and 1.5 million naira alongside the car and movie contract.
Kingsley said that despite those reduced promises, what he eventually received was only 500,000 naira with no car and no movie contract delivered to him, leaving him far short of what was publicly advertised as the winner’s prize.
Kingsley said: “He gave me only 500,000. He told me that day that at the end of the day the 20 million consists of both the one-year movie contract, a car and cash price, and that I may end up not getting up to 2 million or I should be getting like 1.5 or 1 million. To me I felt okay, that 1.5 million that I’ll be getting will be coming with the car and one-year movie contract, maybe the rest. But at the end of the day all he gave me was 500,000.
