Haleon expands local manufacturing as it rolls out new identity in Nigeria

Haleon, the global consumer health company behind leading brands such as Panadol, Sensodyne, Macleans, Otrivin and Voltaren, is deepening its presence in Nigeria as it rolls out its corporate identity across the country while expanding local manufacturing through a partnership with Fidson Healthcare.

The company disclosed that Panadol Extra 100s and Panadol Pain & Fever 100s are already being produced and supplied to the Nigerian market under the Haleon identity, marking a significant step in its strategy to strengthen local production and improve access to essential healthcare products.

The move comes nearly four years after Haleon formally separated from pharmaceutical giant GSK to become an independent consumer healthcare company focused exclusively on everyday health products.

Under the phased transition, consumers will begin seeing the Haleon corporate identity on packaging across its portfolio, starting with Sensodyne Rapid Action from mid-June and Andrews Liver Salts later this year. Other brands, including Otrivin, Voltaren, Cac 1000, Macleans and the wider Sensodyne range, will subsequently adopt the Haleon branding.

The company stressed that the transition is purely a corporate branding change and will not affect product formulations, quality standards or effectiveness.

Industry analysts say the localisation strategy reflects a growing trend among multinational healthcare companies seeking to strengthen supply chains, reduce import dependence and improve product availability in Africa’s largest consumer market.

Speaking on the development, Haleon’s General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Himanshu Raj, said the company remains focused on maintaining consumer trust while supporting local manufacturing capabilities.

“As Haleon introduces its identity in Nigeria, we want consumers to feel informed and reassured. The trusted products they rely on remain the same in quality, formulation, and effectiveness. At the same time, our local production approach in partnership with Fidson Healthcare supports reliable access to high-quality everyday health products in Nigeria,” he said.
