Guinness Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Ms. Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh as its new Company Secretary, following board approval at the meeting held on October 22, 2025.
The change takes effect from November 1, 2025, marking a key transition in the company’s legal and governance leadership.
Resignation of Abidemi Ademola
The company confirmed that Mrs. Abidemi Ademola will step down as Company Secretary effective October 31, 2025, after two years of dedicated service.
In a statement, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, OFR, Chairman of Guinness Nigeria Plc, commended Mrs. Ademola for her professionalism, integrity, and commitment to strong corporate governance during her tenure.
He noted that she played a pivotal role in ensuring statutory compliance, facilitating board effectiveness, and overseeing key corporate transactions and transitions.
The Board expressed its gratitude for her significant contributions and wished her continued success in future endeavours.
Appointment of Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh
Following the resignation, the Board approved the appointment of Ms. Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh as the new Company Secretary.
Ms. Ajibola-Jimoh is a legal practitioner with over a decade of experience in corporate and commercial law, legal and regulatory compliance, data protection, corporate governance, and stakeholder management.
She joined Guinness Nigeria Plc in 2024 from MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, where she served in senior legal and compliance roles.
At Guinness Nigeria, she has been Senior Commercial Legal Manager and Data Protection Officer, providing legal advisory support to the Board and driving improvements in corporate governance and efficiency.
Chairman Ajogwu expressed confidence that Ms. Ajibola-Jimoh will continue to uphold Guinness Nigeria’s long-standing standards of corporate integrity and transparency, saying the Board “looks forward to her continued contribution and leadership in her expanded role.”
Effective Date
With this development, Ms. Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh becomes the Company Secretary of Guinness Nigeria Plc effective November 1, 2025.
