The Police Service Commission, working with the Nigeria Police Force, has announced the start of applications for new Police Constables and Specialist personnel.
This follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive approving the recruitment of 50,000 additional officers to strengthen national security and improve the Force’s response to rising crime across the country.
According to the Commission, the online application portal will open from 15 December 2025 to 25 January 2026.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, physically and mentally fit, and free from any financial embarrassment.
They must also be of good character with no criminal record.
Age limits are set at 18–25 years for General Duty applicants and up to 28 years for Specialists.
Female applicants must not be pregnant during training.
Minimum physical standards include:
General Duty males: 1.67m height, 86cm chest
General Duty females: 1.64m height
Required Qualifications
General Duty: Five credits including English and Mathematics
Specialists: Four credits, at least three years of relevant experience, and trade test certificates

Certificate of State or LGA of origin
Specialist applicants must also include:

Valid Driver’s Licence for driver roles
Application Procedure
Candidates should visit the official portal: npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.
They must have a National Identification Number, functional email address and phone number, and upload all required documents.

B. Specialists:
Medical assistants, drivers, mechanics, auto-electricians, dispatch riders, forensic assistants, dog handlers, horse riders, marine workers, artisans, tailors, ICT technicians, communication operators, and band equipment specialists.
Screening Stages
Applicants will undergo medical and physical examinations, aptitude tests, and background checks.
