Goodluck Jonathan, Peter Obi Meet In Abuja

Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, on Thursday held a close-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.

Obi, who’s a former Anambra State governor, made this known in a post on his X handle.

According to Peter Obi, the meeting with the president was to discuss the state of the nation, describing it as “fruitful”.

“Today in Abuja, I met with my very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan @GEJonathan. We had a fruitful closed-door meeting and discussed the state of our dear nation. -PO”

Bauchi State governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Muhammad Bala, recently disclosed that the party is considering Jonathan and Peter Obi as its possible candidate ahead of 2027.

Likewise, Jonathan, whose possible return on the ballot has sparked eligibility debate lately, is also among the possible candidates considered by the Opposition coalition — African Democratic Congress (ADC) — to go head-to-head with incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
