Pat Akpabio, sister-in-law to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has reopened discussions about a string of unresolved assassinations allegedly linked to Akwa Ibom State during Akpabio’s tenure as governor.
In a viral Facebook video, Pat, who is both a pastor and entrepreneur, launched a scathing verbal attack on the Senate President, accusing him of being behind multiple killings during and after his time in office.
“For all the people you (Akpabio) have killed when you were governor of Akwa Ibom and those killed now that you are in the Senate, it will never be well with you,” she declared.
Allegations and political rift
Pat is married to Akpabio’s brother, Ibanga, who is said to have played a key role in introducing the Senate President to Akwa Ibom politics in the late 1990s.
Ibanga reportedly brought him from Lagos to Uyo and recommended him for appointment as a commissioner under then-Governor Victor Attah — a move that laid the foundation for Akpabio’s rise to power.

The recent video is part of an ongoing feud between the two family members. Pat, who has consistently criticised Akpabio in recent months, accused him of betraying several Akwa Ibom politicians, including former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Umana Okon Umana; ex-APC governorship candidates Nsima Ekere and Akan Udofia; and former YPP candidate Bassey Albert.
She claimed that Akpabio has a habit of abandoning those who once supported his political journey, warning that his downfall is imminent.
“When you finish, go home. This is your quit notice,” she said, adding that Nigerians would soon discover “who he truly is.”
Accusations against the Senate President
Pat alleged that Akpabio accused her husband of murder and theft following the 2019 senatorial election, which Akpabio lost. She said the Senate President wrongly claimed that her husband killed one of his close associates and fled with his money.
In the same breath, she maintained that she once supported Akpabio without demanding anything in return.
“I stood by you in 2019 when people wrote all sorts of things against you. Did I collect one kobo from you? Today, you have the audacity to say that you made me,” she stated.

She further accused Akpabio of neglecting his home community, Ukana Ikot Ntuen, which she said had been without electricity for weeks despite his high-ranking federal position.
Threat to expose more
Pat ended her outburst by challenging Akpabio to publicly respond to her claims, warning that she possessed more “damaging revelations” about his alleged abuse of office and infidelity.
She also urged President Bola Tinubu to be cautious in dealing with the Senate President, whom she described as “a very wicked man.”
