Former Defence Chief Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, and Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Friday held a strategic meeting with the Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, in Abuja over the rising insecurity in parts of the North-East.
According to a media post by Mr Chini, the Special Assistant on Media to the Executive Governor of Taraba State, on Friday 27 February 2026, the engagement formed part of renewed efforts to confront the resurgence of insurgent attacks and other security breaches affecting communities in Adamawa and neighbouring Taraba State.

It was revealed that the leaders emphasised the need for enhanced intelligence sharing, closer inter-agency collaboration, and the deployment of additional security personnel and assets to vulnerable areas.
Governor Kefas reiterated his administration’s determination to protect lives and property, noting that sustained cooperation between state governments and federal authorities remains vital to restoring peace.
Governor Fintiri also expressed concern over recent attacks in Adamawa and called for coordinated and sustained military intervention.
