#FreeNnamdiKanuNow: Drama as police arrest Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, lawyer

‎A fresh controversy erupts online as security operatives arrest Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmauel, and his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor.

‎This comes amid the ongoing protest for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, coinciding with the #EndSARS massacre killings anniversary in 2020.

‎It’s worth noting that Nnamdi Kanu was first arrested in 2015 and has been in DSS custody since June 2021.

‎The details of the duo’s arrest was announced by human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, via a post on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter).

‎ According to him, they were beaten before taken to the FCT command.

‎They were beaten and taken to the FCT command. The police must release them immediately.

Details Of Nnamdi Kanu’s Arrest

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was arrested on June 29, 2021, in Kenya and extradited to Nigeria.

He has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since then, facing seven counts of terrorism charges.

Kanu was initially arrested in October 2015 but granted bail in April 2017. He jumped bail in June 2018 and was re-arrested in June 2021.

However, the IPOB leader has pleaded not guilty to terrorism charges.
