No fewer than four unidentified men have been confirmed dead after a vehicle plunged into the Ososa River along the Ijebu-Ode–Sagamu Expressway.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Monday.
According to him, a white Toyota Hilux carrying six occupants lost control and veered off the road into the river around midnight on Sunday.
Akinbiyi attributed the crash to excessive speeding, noting that emergency responders recovered the victims’ bodies shortly after arriving at the scene.
“Emergency responders, including TRACE, the police, and the Federal Road Safety Corps, recovered four male adults dead,” he stated.
