The death has occurred of Mallam Jidayi Filibus Asarya Wabba, the District Head of Sabongari-Puba, Askira/Uba LGA, Borno State. A devout Christian, he was aged 90 years.
He served the Nigerian Army meritoriously for 35 years before retiring to private life. He is survived by his wife ,11 children, and 26 grandchildren.
Among his children is Comrade Ayuba Wabba, the immediate past President, Nigeria Labour Congress and ITUC global.
He will be buried on Saturday 17th January 2026 in his hometown Sabongari-Puba Askira/Uba LGA, Borno state at 10:00am.
