“Find who you love and cohabit, marriage is overrated” – Actress Yvonne

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede marriage views have stirred debate after she described marriage as overrated during a radio interview in Lagos.

The actress spoke on Naija FM Lagos, where she shared personal lessons from life and relationships, stressing that she remains open-minded about the future.

Why Yvonne Jegede questions marriage

Yvonne Jegede marriage opinions were shaped by observing couples who dated for many years before separating shortly after marriage.

She said many long-term relationships collapse once the marriage label is added, leading to pressure and growing intolerance between partners.

“I am open to remarriage if it comes, but I am not looking for it. I have learnt not to say ‘never!’”

Actress backs cohabitation over marriage

Yvonne Jegede marriage stance also supports cohabitation as a possible alternative for some couples.

She explained that living together without marriage pressure may help couples maintain peace and understanding.

“I think marriage is overrated. A lot of people who dated for 10 to 15 years, got married, and then broke up within 2 to 3 years.”

She added, “I think it is better to find who you love and just cohabit with them.”

The comments by Yvonne Jegede marriage critics have continued to spark conversations on relationships and modern family choices.
