The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
The announcement was made on Monday, in a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
In his message, the minister congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the milestone, urging citizens to uphold values of patriotism, unity, and resilience that have guided the nation since independence in 1960.
Tunji-Ojo also encouraged Nigerians to maintain confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing it as a framework for national rebirth, economic transformation, and shared prosperity.
He expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, emphasizing that peace, progress, and development would continue with the collective support of the populace.
The minister highlighted the importance of national unity and collective responsibility in advancing the country’s growth.
