The Federal Government has approved N100 billion for the implementation of the National Public Sector Solarization Initiative (NPSSI), aimed at providing reliable electricity to public institutions across the country.
Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, Engr. Abba Aliyu, disclosed this during a visit by the Administrator of the National Judicial Institute, Justice Babatunde Adejumo, to the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
Aliyu said the initiative is designed to deploy solar energy systems to key public institutions as part of the government’s efforts to address electricity challenges and reduce dependence on the national grid.
According to him, the programme will improve power supply to critical government facilities while also lowering the cost of electricity and supporting Nigeria’s transition to renewable energy.
The NPSSI is part of broader efforts by the Federal Government to promote sustainable energy solutions and ensure that public institutions have consistent and reliable power for their operations.
