A Nigerian prophetess has drawn attention online after a video of her distributing food items, including bags of rice and yams, to members of her congregation surfaced on social media.
The video, posted on TikTok, showed the woman of God seated as she gave directions while church members came forward to collect their portions.
Some members were also seen kneeling before her in appreciation, a gesture that triggered mixed reactions among netizens.
“Feed Your Flock with Food and God’s Word”
Alongside the video, the prophetess explained her reason for the gesture, quoting the Bible verse 1 Peter 5:2. She wrote:
“Feed your flock with food and God’s word. It is a reference to spiritual leadership and care. 1 Peter 5:2 instructs leaders to care for God’s flock willingly, not for selfish gain, but out of a ready mind. You that have the heart of giving, may God give you speed in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.”
The message, which she described as a lesson in leadership and generosity, drew both praise and criticism.
Social Media Divided
While many appreciated the act of kindness, some questioned the decision of certain church members to kneel while receiving the food items, insisting it was unnecessary.
Others, however, defended the display, noting that kneeling can also be a sign of respect and gratitude.
As of the time of reporting, the video had already garnered over 86,000 views on TikTok.
