The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested nine members of a suspected armed robbery syndicate operating within Abuja and its environs.
The police also recovered stolen vehicles and several household items during the operation.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command,
SP Josephine Adeh, said the suspects were arrested following a robbery incident in Jikwoyi.
“On January 18, 2026, armed robbers invaded a residence in Jikwoyi and carted away valuables, cash and a Toyota Corolla,” she said.
Adeh explained that operatives of the Scorpion Squad launched an intelligence-led investigation after the incident.
She disclosed that the suspects were tracked to Nasarawa State, where they were arrested on January 26 while planning another attack in Asokoro.
“Items recovered include laptops, generators, televisions, vehicles and other exhibits,” she added.
The police spokesperson said investigations revealed that the suspects sold stolen vehicles in Kaduna and Kano.
“They sold the vehicles for between ₦550,000 and ₦650,000,” she said.
Adeh noted that efforts were ongoing to arrest receivers of the stolen items.
She added that the suspects would be charged to court after investigations.
