The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested ten suspected vandals in separate operations across Kubwa, Wuye and the National Mosque area, recovering armoured cables and a vandalised solar street light.
On 2nd September, 2026, at about 6:00 pm, a Police patrol team from Kubwa Division, while on routine patrol around Bazango-Kubwa, sighted some persons vandalizing armoured cables.
The suspects were identified as Goodname Oriarebun, male, 29 years, of Gishiri, Mabushi; Timothy Donald, male, 28 years, of Arab Road, Kubwa; Ayo Buli, female, 26 years, of Gishiri, Mabushi; Emmanuel Elijah, male, 28 years, of Shelter Farm, Byazhin, Kubwa; and Christian David, male, 28 years, of Kabba, Kagini, Abuja.
Similarly, a Police patrol team from Wuye Division arrested one Moses Luka while in the act of digging out armoured cables along the road between Magic Land and National Stadium, Abuja.
In another operation, a Police surveillance team from Wuse Division arrested four suspects, namely Musa Abdullahi, Suleiman Idris, Aliyu Isa and Muhammed Abdulrahman, around National Mosque area of the FCT, after they had cut down a solar powered street light in an attempt to vandalise and remove its components.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the various syndicates, including the receivers of stolen public infrastructure. All suspects remain in Police custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, PhD, FCAI, commends the Police teams for their vigilance and timely intervention to protecting public infrastructure across the FCT.
