Fans and colleagues of veteran Nollywood actress Joke Silva have flooded social media with tributes and well-wishes as she turned 64 on Monday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that admirers took to platforms like Instagram and Twitter to celebrate the screen legend, praising her talent, grace, and contributions to the Nigerian film industry.

Silva herself marked the milestone on her verified Instagram page @Ajokesilva, writing: “Grateful Lord for your Mercy, your Faithfulness, for protection, for Provision, for Family, for Friends, for Colleagues. Thank you, King of Glory, for 64 amazing years.”

Fans responded warmly to her post. @moabudu wrote, “Happy birthday big sis, all my love,” while @chisomasanya said, “Happy birthday beautiful mama.” Other messages included wishes for health, prosperity, and continued success in her career.

Born on September 29, 1961, in Lagos State, Silva gained international recognition for her role opposite Colin Firth and Nia Long in the 1998 British-Canadian film The Secret Laughter of Women. She began her acting career in the 1990 English television series Mind Bending and has since starred in numerous English and Yoruba-language films and television series.

Silva has received multiple accolades, including the “Best Actress in a Leading Role” at the 2006 Africa Movie Academy Awards. In 2012, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime appointed her goodwill ambassador, and she was awarded the national honour, Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), in 2014.
