A Nigerian Aviation firm, Falcon Aerospace Ltd. on Saturday in Lagos, announced the appointment of Capt. Ahmed Borodo, as a Non-Executive Director, following the company’s recent global expansion.
The firm announced this in a statement to newsmen in Lagos on Saturday.
Borodo is a business pilot and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Flybird Aircraft Management Services Ltd.
The CEO of Falcon Aerospace, Erika Achum said that the company is constituting its board with eminent personalities, whose vision and qualities aligns with its values
“As we grow and consolidate our position in the business aviation market across Africa and beyond, we are constituting our board with eminent personalities whose vision and qualities align with our values.
” Therefore, I am delighted to welcome Capt. Ahmed Borodo, to the board as non-executive director.
“He was instrumental to our take off as a firm, and we have taken our relationship further through the partnership between Falcon and Flybird, to create Aruba-based OrientJets in 2024,” he said.
Reacting to his appointment, Borodo said: “I feel honoured to be appointed to the board of this highly innovative and dynamic organisation.
“I was privileged to have been part of Falcon Aero’s story from the beginning and I am delighted by the company’s bold moves in the last two years.
“My commitment to aviation excellence aligns with the Falcon Aero’s vision and values, and I hope my humble contributions will help fast track the company’s growth,” he said.
On his part, Chief Operating Officer at Falcon Aero, Tejumade Salami, said that Capt. Borodo would provide independent oversight and strategic counsel in his role as Non-Executive Director.
Salami said his appointment would help to steer Falcon Aerospace towards new heights in a rapidly evolving global market.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Borodo has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Development Studies from Ado Bayero University, Kano.
He obtained an FAA Private Pilot License (PPL) in 2007, and further obtained a Commercial Multi-Engine Certifications from Flight Safety International in the United States.
Prior to starting Flybird, he worked as a pilot for Virgin Nigeria Airways, Gyro Air, and Azman Air Services.
