Popular Nigerian skit maker and streamer, Odahohwo Joseph Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, has reacted to claims by Babcock University that a certificate circulating online and bearing his name is fake.
The controversy began after a document surfaced on social media, purportedly showing that the comedian graduated from Babcock University with a first-class degree in Biochemistry.
The certificate quickly went viral and sparked widespread reactions online, with many users questioning its authenticity.
In response, Babcock University issued a statement distancing itself from the document. The institution described the certificate as “false, unauthorised, and fraudulent,” insisting that it did not originate from the university.
Carter Efe breaks silence
Amid the growing controversy, Carter Efe addressed the issue in a video that has since circulated on social media.
In the clip, the father of one appeared alongside members of his team and jokingly reacted to reports that the university was allegedly looking for him over the disputed certificate.
Speaking in a light-hearted manner, the content creator said the institution would not be able to find him easily.
“I hear say una dey look for me,” he said in Pidgin English.
Comedian demands ‘ticket fee’
Carter Efe further joked that if he ever decided to visit Babcock University, the institution would first have to pay him ₦100,000 as a “ticket fee” before seeing him.
“Una go pay N100k for ticket to see me. I dey come,” he added as people around him cheered and laughed in the background.
