Chief Ifeanyi Chukwuma-Odii, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi, has lauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and the newly elected National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
The new NWC is led by Abdulrahaman Mohammed and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, National Chairman and National Secretary respectively.
This is contained in a statement issued to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki on Monday by Mr Moses Idika, Spokesman of Chukwuma- Odii political Movement and current National Ex-Officio member of the party.
Chwukwuma -Odii described the emergence of the new NWC as a step in the right direction toward repositioning the party for unity, stability, and electoral success.
He, however commended Wike for his leadership role and contributions to the successful conduct of the party’s national convention, which produced the new executives.
The former governorship candidate expressed confidence that the newly elected NWC members possess the capacity and experience to move the party forward.
“The election of the new NWC is a result of dogged struggle for adherence to constitutionalism and the rule of law.
“I felicitate with the National Leader of the PDP, Wike who has stood firm to ensure that the party was not hijacked by selfish anti-democratic forces.
“I also congratulate the two sons of Ebonyi, who have been elected into the national leadership of the party, Chidiebere Egwu, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary and Moses Eze Idika, National Ex-Officio member,” he added.
Chukeuma -Odii noted that the PDP has effectively bounced back and ready for the next phase of Nigeria’s democratic process.
He urged party members across the country to support the new leadership and remain committed to the ideals of the PDP.
The former PDP candidate also called for unity among party stakeholders, stressing that collective effort was necessary to strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
NAN recalls that Chukwuma-Odii had, on Saturday, led 52 accredited Ebonyi delegates to the 2026 elective convention of the party, held at the Velodrome of the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The convention attracted 2,632 delegates from the 36 states and the FCT. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
