Eminem’s Ex Kim Scott Left With One Path Out Of Jail

Eminem‘s ex-wife, Kim Scott, is getting real-time consequences for her actions!

The rapper’s former partner recently appeared in court to face the Judge for breaking the terms and conditions of her release following multiple arrests months apart.

Eminem and Kim Scott were married, not once, but twice, years after they met as teenagers and became high school sweethearts. They share a daughter, Hailie Jade, who was born in 1995 before they tied the knot the first time.

After prosecutors flagged several alleged violations, including an issue with her alcohol-monitoring tether, a Macomb County judge revoked the 51-year-old’s bond and ordered her into custody. The ruling applied one exception, which is that Scott could be released if she was placed in an inpatient treatment program.

The rapper’s former wife encountered legal troubles after she missed court appearances connected to a DUI case, thus prompting bench warrants which were later canceled following her arraignment.

The ongoing legal issues began when Scott was cited for driving under the influence in a February 16 crash. She was subsequently charged with operating while intoxicated and later pled to the charge, but was arrested again on May 14 for another alleged OWI.

Scott was also billed to appear in court again on Thursday, August 13 for sentencing in the February matter and a probable cause conference tied to the May case. Rather than moving forward under the same bond arrangement, prosecutors asked the Judge to intervene over her alleged noncompliance.

As shared by CBS News, the court agreed, effectively tying Scott’s release to treatment instead of another bond opportunity. She is scheduled to appear in court again on October 14.

The Blast shared in July that Scott was hospitalized after emergency crews showed up at her Michigan home over concerns that someone had lost consciousness or was fainting. It was reported that officers from the Chesterfield Police Department and EMS personnel arrived shortly after 8 p.m.

A fire and emergency medical report later cited a possible hemorrhage or laceration in connection with the incident. Scott was then pictured being taken out of her residence on a gurney before paramedics took her to McLaren Macomb Hospital.

As regards her May arrest, prosecutors claimed Scott left the February accident scene without reporting the crash to appropriate authorities. Scott’s Range Rover had reportedly rammed into a parked truck with enough force to propel it up to 50 feet forward.

On May 11, Eminem’s ex-wife entered a no-contest plea after prosecutors accused her of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a collision. While the plea did not require Scott to admit guilt formally, it carried the same legal consequences as a guilty plea for the misdemeanor charges.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido used the case to stress the dangers of impaired driving, arguing that getting behind the wheel while intoxicated is a conscious decision that can put other motorists at serious risk.

The Judge emphasized that prosecutors would continue working to hold anyone who made that choice fully accountable for their actions. Just three days later, Scott was arrested again after another alleged crash, this time involving a parked vehicle near Detroit.

Authorities revealed that Scott appeared unsteady when officers arrived and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of .204%, nearly three times Michigan’s legal limit. Police also claimed Scott smelled of alcohol and admitted she had been drinking earlier.

Details from Scott’s recent medical emergency revealed that there was apparent self-inflicted injury, with audio from the dispatch noting a caller telling authorities that their aunt had been bleeding after cutting herself.

As noted by The Blast, Chesterfield Fire and EMS reported it as a hemorrhage/laceration in which there was significant bleeding. The episode has also renewed public attention on Scott’s previously documented mental health struggles.

In 2000, a representative for Eminem’s record label confirmed that Scott had survived a suicide attempt at the couple’s suburban Detroit home during an especially turbulent chapter of their marriage.

Scott later revealed in an interview that her 2015 crash had been deliberate as well, and she chose a remote location to avoid harming anyone else. “Yes, I drank, I took pills, and I hit the gas and aimed for a pole,” Scott explained as she reflected on when she drove her Cadillac Escalade into a utility pole on a lonely road.

The rapper’s ex-wife also pleaded no contest in the drunken-driving case stemming from that crash. She received one year of probation, along with drug testing, continued treatment and financial penalties.

The rapper rose to fame decades ago and has since opened up about struggling with the dark sides of fame and how personal pain from his first marriage led him down a dangerous path. Eminem had shared that he found himself relying on sleeping pills and methadone to get by each day.

He also recalled taking up to 60 Valium and 30 Vicodin pills at the height of his substance addiction. The “Mockingbird” rapper was famously rushed to the hospital in 2007 after he suffered a drug overdose episode.

Eminem had tried to stay clean the year after this episode, but he unfortunately relapsed, and in 2010, he detailed his drug abuse struggles on his musical project “Recovery.”

He celebrated 12 years of staying sober in 2020, revealing in subsequent interviews that his kids played a central role in his decision to set his life on the right path.
