Ekiti APC chieftain hails party’s scribe on birthday, condoles him for mother’s death

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Hon. Ayodeji Marcus Alo, has celebrated the National Secretary of the ruling party, Senator Ajibola Basiru, on his 54th birthday, describing him as “a national asset who has contributed to national growth, unity and development in all facets.”

Alo, in a statement on Wednesday, also condoled with the APC scribe on the passing of his mother, Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, saying missing such a priceless individual was painful and saddening.

Alo hailed Senator Basiru for his meritorious contributions to the growth of democracy in Nigeria from his time as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun State, and up to his time at the Senate representing the Osun Central Senatorial District.

The Ekiti APC leader added that Senator Basiru had proven his mettle as a leader who believes in the improvement of the welfare of his people, which he demonstrated during his time in positions of authority at the state and federal cadres.

According to him, Ajibola’s honesty, discipline, vociferous and fearless nature and populist actions catapulted him to national prominence and he became the national Secretary of the largest party in Africa.

“On behalf of my teeming followers, I congratulate the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, for adding another milestone to his rewarding and impactful age.

“Senator Basiru didn’t just advance in age, he has shown that he is a leader who can be trusted with power. He is an archetype of honesty and discipline. Someone who has become a shining light to the upcoming politicians and leaders of tomorrow in actions and deeds.

“Those of us who relish your character and comportment are really proud to associate with you. I celebrate you on this occasion and wish you more prosperous years ahead for you to contribute meritoriously to your fatherland and make Nigeria a nation of pride and prosperity.”

Alo, who also mourned the death of Alhaja Basiru, urged the Senator to take solace that his mother lived a life replete with heartwarming memories and left indelible marks on the sand of time.

The APC chieftain noted that for Alhaja Ajibola to have raised such highly disciplined and successful children like Basiru and his siblings underscored how priceless her life’s trajectory had been to God and humanity.

He therefore urged Senator Basiru to be assuaged by the fact that his mother served Allah with a pious heart and mind and delivered on the mandate given to her by God to live and impact positively on the lives of whoever crossed her path during her sojourn on earth.

“I can boldly say that Alhaja Basiru’s demise was more of a celebration than mourning to some of us who knew her values and virtues. I mean, the virtues of honesty, trustworthiness, sacrifice, and holiness to God Almighty that radiated around her during her time.”

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed.
