DSS Arrests Suspected Major Arms Supplier in Plateau State

Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have apprehended one Musa Abubakar, believed to be a significant arms dealer connected to armed groups in Plateau State and other areas in the north. This followed precise intelligence received by the DSS, resulting in his arrest on 12 November 2025.

A source within the DSS stated, “The suspect has confessed to manufacturing and distributing high-calibre weapons and ammunition to armed groups involved in violent attacks in Plateau State and other northern regions.”

His arrest came after credible intelligence regarding the suspect’s activities led to a targeted raid on his arms manufacturing workshop located in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.

“Abubakar was caught red-handed with various components for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), chemicals, and equipment, all of which have been confiscated by DSS operatives.”

This significant arrest follows the recent recapture of Abdulazeez Obadaki, also known as Bomboy, a Kuje Prison escapee who orchestrated the attacks on Owo and the Deeper Life Church.

These recent operational successes by the DSS demonstrate the Agency’s commitment to combating terrorism and enhancing national security.

It is worth noting that the DSS has arrested a total of nine high-profile suspects involved in the attacks in Plateau and Benue, including Timna Manjol (46), who has already pleaded guilty to two of four charges, including illegal possession of firearms, in a case marked FHC/ABJ/CR/451/2025. Manjol is associated with First Baptist Church, Mangu LGA, Plateau State.
