A dramatic moment from “Next Afrobeats Star” talent show has gone viral after a contestant, identified as Star Light, angrily confronted the judges following his rejection on stage.
During his audition, Star Light performed his self-inspired track “Gobe”. However, the judges appeared unimpressed with his song performance.
One of the judges delivered a particularly harsh critique, saying, “The fact that I can’t even remember your name means you haven’t done anything memorable here.”
The comment immediately triggered the contestant, who lashed out in frustration, defending his performance and expressing his disappointment.
In his defense, Star Light replied boldly:
“I want you guys to get used to my name Star Light. One day, you’ll buy tickets and come to my show. Apart from here, I can make it. It’s just the stress you guys made me pass through. Get used to my name and face; you’ll see me on your TV screen soon.”
He then walked out of the stage angrily, ignoring attempts from the judges to calm him down. One of them called him back, but he snapped,
“Why do you want me to come? You guys don’t understand my sound. You’re telling me trash, get out!”
The video has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers praising his confidence and passion, while others criticized his attitude as disrespectful and immature.
The viral clip continues to trend across social media, fueling conversations about how aspiring artists handle rejection in the spotlight.

This was a very mean and disgraceful display by the judges of Next Afrobeat Star for a performance that really wasn’t all that bad, especially if you listen from a place of vision and potential
If these are the kind of judges selected for this program, it needs to be cancelled!! https://t.co/KHesh2c4Vp
